Decking the Halls or Mantle…

Hi all.  I can  NOT believe it is December! We’re 20 days from Christmas! Ack….

While my own home is not yet decorated for Christmas, we did play at our little shop last night, KnB’s Marketplace located at 120 Raleigh St. in Fuquay Varina, NC.  Kim, the proprietor, hosted a ‘Sip and Shop’ night. Our little town had the town tree lighting and horse sleigh rides and Kim opened her doors to welcome people to a glass of wine or hot apple cider while browsing through our wonderful shop.  A few of us vendors also went a mantle-ing…….get it?  instead of wasselling?  ha ha

It’s over already??

Another year has come and gone. …sigh….this is my 21st blog post….almost 1 year ago I did my 1st post. My saying then was “Next year You’d of wish you’d started today.” What did I start this year?? We tend to think of all the things we should have done or should be doing and rarely focus on what we did achieve. Allow me to show some self-compassion and reflect on what I did accomplish this year. Continue reading “It’s over already??”

Easy as Pie or Cake…

I’m all moved in to my new booth at KnB’s Marketplace located at 120 Raleigh St. in Fuquay Varina, NC.  Check out these cool lamps repurposed from a John Deere engine filter and an industrial funnel.  I really need to find somewhere to use the industrial funnel one – I love it.

Speaking of repurposing….I found these cool cake pans with the bottom that lifts out ….Today a cake pan…..Tomorrow a clock!

Fun Photos

My good friend, Dana, dropped by today at work.  She’s an avid photographer – naturally talented, can turn anything into a great snapshot.  Many of my facebook photos – the ones that look any good – were taken by her.  My current facebook profile pic of the wooden spools is one by her and definitely one of my favs.

So, I am no photographer but if I’m going to blog and use Facebook, I need at least some basic skills, Or do I?  I found this awesome app (sorry, it’s an iPhone app) – InstaPic- Photo Editor by Victor Jayaseelan.  You can do anything……turn pic black and white and then add color to specific points, add frames, do the cool focus thing where one area is in focus and the background is blurry, add text (although couldn’t see where you could change the font) – the options seem endless. It’s almost time…

Welp – it’s almost time to move in to my new booth at KnB’s Marketplace.  What is KnB’s, you ask?  It’s a quaint little shop located at 120 Raleigh St. in Fuquay Varina, NC.  It’s a must-check-out kind of place.  If you’re coming into the downtown Fuquay side (not downtown Varina)  on Main St. heading south – when you see Bostic and Wilson Antiques on your left and Anna’s Pizzeria on your right – you are in the perfect spot – take the next left on to Raleigh St. and KnB’s is on the right – cute, white, brick building. Rosie the Riveter – I am not!

Hi all – I’ve returned from my summer hiatus with all new Peddler DIYs and Good News.

First – Good News – I am joining K n B’s Marketplace as a new vendor starting 01 Aug!  I am thrilled to have a booth again and could not ask for a better establishment to join.  A real top notch local business!  They are located in Fuquay Varina, NC at 120 Raleigh Street.  Come see my latest Peddler Finds!

My latest DIY – well really this was made probably early June but I went to find a cool, shady spot for the summer but now I’m baaaaaccccckkkkkk.

We (myself and my silent TUP partner, aka My Wonderfully Patient Husband) made a photo frame using an old screen, rivets, and roof flashing.  Now this blog is about posting all my DIYs not just the ones that turn out fabulous.  What fun would that be if you didn’t see the trials AND the tribulations?  I am in awe of the many design and DIY blogs that make things seem effortless.  Well, that’s not this kind of blog.  See, I’m no designer and every time I pick up a powertool (other than a sander or a drill) I shake with fear of possibly injuring myself.  So, this post is one of those that make me a real DIYer because well…..let’s just say somewhere between the idea and the execution things fell a little flat. Cameron did not Disappoint

imageWhew….what a day we had in Cameron.  It was awesome.  The weather was gorgeous.  We were set up in the parking lot of the United Methodist Church. Our spot was about a parking space and a half – the perfect size – not too big and not too small.  Plus the gal renting the spot next to me was unable to make it so we were also allowed to overflow into her spot.

Ms. Joyce, from the United Methodist Church of Women, was our hostess for the day.   She has to be the nicest woman I’ve ever met.  A good southern woman.  I called her about 3 weeks ago to ask about renting space to sell at the antique festival.  She was warm and welcoming.  We exchanged paperwork a few times (no email just good ‘ol paper mail)  and each time she’d sign her name “Love, Joyce”. A good southern woman.

Cameron or Bust…

image We are heading to the antique festival in Cameron, NC on Saturday, May 3rd. We will be right next to The Old Hardware store and Dewberry Deli in the parking lot of the Methodist Church, Space #19.  I’ve been to Cameron several times but this is my first time as a vendor. It’s a must experience-event….a variety of antique sellers, artisans, and good-people-good-food.  The weather is predicted to be sunny and clear so pack your sunscreen.

Peddling Success

I had a fabulous time last weekend at the Raleigh fleamarket.  The weather was incredible even despite my sunburned neck.

imageMy favorite part was hearing what people were looking for or the treasures they found.  We had such a remarkable day that we’ve decided to do the antique festival in Cameron, NC on Saturday, May 3rd.  I know the shoppers will be as great as the Raleigh shoppers.  Here’s a few of the unforgettable people we met….

…and we are Peddling! For real this time!

Hi everyone.  I am very excited!  At the last minute I was able to book a spot at the NC flea imagemarket for this weekend.  It’s supposed to be beautiful weather and the fairgrounds is not only hosting the weekly fleamarket but also the Southern Ideal Homeshow, the Chatlee Boat Show, and the tobacco expo.

We’ll be there peddling from 9am-6pm.  Look for us at spaces 460 & 461.  We are in the main thorough fare of the antique and collectibles section.  I’ll have my panama jack tent set up filled with Peddler finds!

We’ll see you Saturday!
