Hi! Nice to meet you. I’m Kwane Neely (pronounced kwah-nee), a self-proclaimed DIY Re-purposer.
DIY re-pur-pos-er (n.): person that tries to change something so that it can be used for a new purpose without losing any fingers.
I had an early love of antiques and re-purposing thanks to a childhood girlfriend. Her house was full of warm, cozy, welcoming pieces…an old trunk turned coffee table, a pie safe holding blankets, a beautiful dressing vanity. Her parents had impeccable taste. I didn’t appreciate it at the time but now I can’t stop at an antique shop or antique fair without thinking of them. They sparked my love of antiques which led to my obsession for re-purposing.
I am a professional by day and a DIY Warrior on the weekends. I do everything by trial and error so know that the projects I share do not come with insurance.
Thanks for reading my blog and Happy DIY-ing!

Hi Kwane. I met you at the Raleigh Flea Market in May and purchased some milk glass vases for my daughter’s weeding the end of August. You had suggested I contact you about cake stands when, if we were interested, and now we are. She is having multiple cakes – one small tiered for cutting and either three or four others. I think the size will be 12″, but I’m not positive.
Since we will need four or five, cost is a consideration. If you have any items available or suggestions for where I might look, i would much appreciate hearing from you.
Thank you so much! I subscribed to the blog so I hope to be hearing more from, about you!
Best,
Martha Collins
Hi Martha! It’s so nice to hear from you. I don’t have any milk glass cakestands at the moment. I’ve got several picking trips planned for July and will keep my eyes out. I’m sure we can find cost-friendly. 🙂
Be in touch soon.
